Start at the front door
If your flooring will likely experience a lot of foot traffic from outside, use mats at doorways, or even invest in a few temporary carpet or plastic runners. And having some hand wipes on-hand will help take care of those grubby animal paws.
Spillages

Christmas trees
Real Christmas trees have made a big comeback in recent years. To take care of falling pine needles and water stains, simply place your Christmas tree on a waterproof mat that you can cover up with decorations.
